Hi, sveiks, привет, namaste, tashi delek, salut!
I would like to extend a very warm welcome to you here at my Return to Innocence project!
My name is Juris and I am a European nomad - originally from Latvia, but with more than half of my life lived in Hungary, the UK and Belgium.
I was educated as a lawyer and have always felt passionate about human rights, devoting my activism and professional life to this cause.
Even so, for many years the big questions kept popping up in my head and led me towards such practices as meditation, mindfulness, yoga, mantra chanting, and mandala and yantra painting. The wisdom of the East, particularly that of Buddhist philosophy, gradually provided some answers and took greater prominence in my life. I visited the Himalayan region a few times, but Nepal completely stole my heart! My bond to Nepal was cemented by the tragic and devastating earthquake of 25 April 2015, which I experienced in Kathmandu.
The Return to Innocence tour is my way of sharing the deep love and affection I have towards this incredible country and her most gentle and innocent people. I want you to experience the enormous supply of spiritual, cultural and natural wonders, and fall in love with Nepal just as I did. This trip is also an opportunity for you to connect more closely with incredible people in Nepal and be part of rebuilding Nepal's tourism industry, something Nepal and her people heavily depend on. I am very proud and honoured to organise this tour together with my friends and colleagues at Gap Nepal and Vol Nepal who are doing incredible work responding to the needs of the local communities across the country and helping them to become more sustainable and self-sufficient.
So come with me, fall in love with Nepal and Return to Innocence!
